About the Role: 

As our first Quality & Release Lead, you’ll be a critical partner in scaling Workerbee’s engineering and product operations. You will be responsible for designing, owning, and executing QA, bug triage, and release processes — ensuring that every deploy, whether web, mobile, or backend, is predictable, tested, and stable.

You’ll act as the central point of contact for all product-related support tickets, handling bug investigation, reproduction, and resolution tracking. You’ll also support our Sales and Talent teams by helping clarify platform behavior, drafting responses, and escalating technical issues as needed.

Working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and offshore QA partners, you’ll bring structure, visibility, and reliability to how we ship and support the Workerbee platform.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Implement QA processes across web, mobile, and API surfaces using both automated and manual testing.
  • Define and enforce standards for test cases, coverage, and defect tracking.
  • Coordinate external QA support for regression and structured test execution. 
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to define acceptance criteria and go/no-go gates.
  • Manage Full-Cycle Customer Support Process – capture, triage, and assigned issues with clear reproduction steps and priorities. Identify trends and information during support ticket processing to optimize QA process.
  • Central point of Contact for L1 and L2 customer support tickets, ensuring accurate investigation, resolution tracking, timely follow-up, and reporting.
  • Support Sales and Talent teams by reviewing tickets tied to customer or specialist issues, clarifying platform behavior, and escalating technical items as needed.
  • Draft internal-facing responses or platform explanations to reduce turnaround time and improve clarity.
  • Maintain structured triage tools (e.g. Jira boards, Service Hub tickets) to keep product workflows organized and actionable.
  • Manage weekly/monthly release cycles, including cutoffs, smoke tests, and rollback plans.
  • Maintain release documentation and improve CI/CD handoffs and UAT integration.
  • Lead readiness checks and retrospectives to ensure smooth, reliable deployments.
  • Track QA and release KPIs (e.g., bug leakage, deployment success rates).
  • Identify process bottlenecks and reduce regression risk.
  • Promote a quality-first culture within the Product & Engineering team.

What You'll Bring to the Role: 

  • 5+ years of experience in QA, release engineering, or quality operations roles.
  • Proven experience defining and implementing testing strategies in product-led, SaaS, or platform companies.
  • Strong familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test automation tooling, and defect tracking systems (e.g., Bitbucket, Jira, Service Hub, BrowserStack).
  • Hands-on experience managing structured release processes with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with hybrid or offshore QA resources.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to coordinate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.High accountability and process orientation — you love clarity and structure.
  • Familiarity with hybrid mobile app frameworks (e.g. Capacitor/Ionic).
  • Experience in marketplace and financial processing environments.
  • Knowledge of tools we use: Jira, Bitbucket, Browserstack, Slack, Hubspot, Service Hub, Bullhorn.
